Case Study - Independent Vehicle Report

Guy Salmon Land Rover

Guy Salmon Land Rover asked us to carry out an inspection on a Jaguar F-Pace which had seen some water creeping in through a faulty panoramic glass roof seal.

The fault was repaired at an approved bodyshop and the vehicle was ready to be returned to the owner.

Just before collection, though, the owner’s Jaguar InControl app was displaying a service light and a low fuel warning light. Guy Salmon serviced the vehicle and filled the tank, which should have been the end of the service.

Despite this, the customer still reported further issues, specifically with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The app reported a low MPG reading which resulted in the customer having concerns with the post-repair state of the vehicle and questioning the standard of service.

We attended at Guy Salmon, performing a detailed and impartial inspection of the F-Pace there at the dealership. The inspection covered all areas of the vehicle but focused particularly on the customer’s areas of concern and the repairs carried out by Guy Salmon.

The findings were pretty conclusive; the vehicle was in excellent condition, and the repair work was carried out to a very high standard. No faults were found with the DPF. We established that the low MPG reading was caused by idling, with the vehicle being caught in slow-moving traffic on the journey between the repair garage and Guy Salmon.

We produced a comprehensive Civil Procedure Rules compliant report to cover our findings.

Our independent vehicle report was very reassuring for Guy Salmon, confirming that their repair and service work met the high standards expected by Jaguar, while the customer had peace of mind knowing that their vehicle was being returned in excellent condition.
